Appearance tab > Enable Multiple Panels

By using the multiple panel option on the appearance tab, and then adding New Panel's in place of the Line Feeds.

You can at lease limit the # of characters of the abbr name. Play around with the decimal values. Can't remember exactly but if my memory serves me correctly you can set the least # of characters displayed to 3 or 4.

Sorry for the hijack, but I tried this and I could only choose between 0, 1 and 2 decimals... At least for abbr.name it would be nice to have up to 10 decimals possible...
