Exclamation Installation of Postgres (please help me!)

    Hi!
I just bought HoldEm Manager and feeling very good about it.
But I have already bumped in to a problem which I cant find an answear of in the FAQ.

Its when I reach the installation-state. When the program is trying to Initiate Database Cluster. I get: Failed to create temporary directory.

    WHY?!?!
I think Im going nuts soon. I have tried about 200times..but I get this message every time.
I´ve disabled UAC, and I follow the installation-help provided on Hold`Em Manager support.
Sry for bad spelling. I hope someone can help me out and save my day.

    Cheers,
    Fred

    Thanks for the answear!
I have read their post and done my best to fix the problem. But without luck.
I feel kinda sad as I paid for Hold`Em Manager but cant get past the first stage, the installation of Postgre.

Im in no way a rich person and Ive thought of buying this program for a long time when my economical situation allowed it. Now was the time and this happens. Guess I just run bad overall =(

What should I do if I still cant get it to work?

    Best regards,
    Fred

Maybe try a few different versions of PostgreSQL, google download install postgreSQL 8.3 then try 8.2 and then 8.1,when you uninstall each one make sure to delete the PostgreSQL folder in the Program Files before installing the next one

    Thanks again for the effort.
Sadly that did not work either.

What I have read from other forums is that this problem is not easy to solve.
I find it interessting that it only happens to a few ppl. I´ve tried quite a few different things but with that same outcome. Guess U´ll have to take it further to "Roy". I really want to know how to fix this!!

    Cheeers,
    Fred

    I'm getting the same problem.

Between step 10 and 11 on your installation FAQ page I get two additional steps.

First, a "Enable Procedural Languages" window pops up. The default choice (among eight or so choices) is:
    [x]PL/pgsql.

That leads to a "Enable Contrib Modules" window. It has maybe twenty choices. The default choice is:
    [x]adminpack.

This then completes the installation process. Your 11th step never comes up. The installation then ends with the "Failed to create temporary directory" window which leads to a rollback of the install.

I've gone through this process six or eight times and have followed the previous steps. Any help via the forum would be appreciated.

A solution that works for some people with this issue is installing the Microsoft .net 3.5 install from:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

This will update a lot of different windows files and hopefully it correct the problem. If this is not it then it is some type of security / permissions issue most likely caused by your anti virus / anti spyware software or windows itself.
