Question Rake calculation GG - Beat Beat Jackpot Fee = Rake ?

    Hi HM3 forum,

I wondered how the rake of GG HandHistorys is accounted in HM3.

Is the jackpot fee of 1bb for pots >30bb accounted for as rake or is it ignored?

So what is shown in my HM3, if I filter for Rake payed:

    1) Rake = Rake
    or
    2) Rake = Rake + Jackpot Fee

    Here an example GG HandHistory:

    Poker Hand #HD666713242: Hold'em No Limit ($5/$10) - 2021/10/03 01:46:47

It is accounted for in the 'Net Won' stat/results but it is not accounted for in the 'Rake Taken Game' stat or other various 'Rake' related stats. It is a separate fee so has to be accounted for under a separate 'Jackpot Fee' stat. PT4 has a 'BBJ' report stat to keep track of these fees but HM3 does not have such a stat yet unfortunately. This feature request has been documented in detail and provided to the developers for future consideration. If you want to be notified if/when it is added please send an email via the 'Contact Support' link and include "Notify Me When HMT-6456 Is Resolved" in the subject line and body of the email.

    971.56 - 490.78 contributed = 480.78 Net Won

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a way to get the accurate number of true rake paid on GGPoker with help of HM3.

The way I understand it, on top of the 'Rake' number showing in HM, jackpot fees should be added to determine true rake paid.

Bad Beat Jackpot: if you play regular cash game tables this is a 1bb fee for won pots over 30bb.
Cash Drop Jackpot: if you play Rush&Cash another 1bb for 30bb+ pots is charged.

Does this mean if I play reg tables I take 'Rake' as shown in HM3, e.g. $100 and should manually add 1bb * 30bb+ pots won? For example, I won 5 pots that were over 30bb on $1/$2 stakes, I add 5 * $2 = $10 to come to true rake paid of $110?

Let me know if this approach is accurate please, that would be helpful!

    Thank you

Yes, it sounds like you have the right method to use until such time as we add a 'BBJ' fee stat to HM3 that you can then add to the 'Rake Taken Game' stat.

I've just stumbled upon this thread and thought I could contribute with my comment. As far as I understand, the jackpot fee in GG HandHistorys is accounted for as part of the rake. So when you filter for Rake paid in HM3, it should show Rake = Rake + Jackpot Fee.
Regarding your example, it looks like the jackpot fee of $10 is included in the rake amount of $10. So in this case, Rake = $10 and Jackpot Fee = $10.

    Default Numbers matching up

    Hey,

To continue in this thread, I'm checking net rake paid again at GGPoker.

When I compare balances pre/post session, the amount won 100% matches with the number showing in HM3 after downloading the particular hands.

PokerCraft says winloss = $336.16, and cashier/HM3 both agree on profit being $140.81.

That would mean the net rake paid is $195.35 (336.16-$140.81), as PokerCraft shows winnings + rake.

HM3 says net rake paid is $167.13 and I'm wondering if the difference comes from additional rake that's not accounted for by HM3?

Any guidance on what's possibly causing the difference would be much appreciated!

ps. I only played 11 pots where I invested more than 15bb so in case that's an additional big blind charged, it still doesn't match accurately.

Since the winnings line up exactly I'm sure missing hands isn't causing the problem.

You are likely right, but our testers have no way to know what might be causing the issue unless you send us the actual hands, screenshots, and details of the issue as explained at the end of the FAQ I linked above. Once you send us those files we can try to reproduce the issue and document it for our developers to fix in a future update.
