Default NC migration to HM3 - is it fully backward compatible?

Hi, I have a complex HUD running on HM2 using a larger number of NC notes. If I upgrade to HM3 is everything expected to function as it did on HM2?

    Hi tlukasha,

Your HUD should function properly on HM3.

Before you import your HM2 HUD into HM3, be sure to first import your definitions into the HM3 NoteCaddy. This is required for the definitions to attach properly to the HUD.

If you have any troubles with it, just let us know.

How do I copy the NC definitions across from HM2? I go to the underlying folder and copy the definitions? From where to where do I copy them?

You can do it that way, by copying from the folder and placing them in a new directory.

Or you can just select them in the HM2 NoteCaddy, right-click and choose Export, and choose a location to save them to.

In the HM3 NoteCaddy, choose Tools → Import → Import Note Definitions and select the definitions that you exported/copied.

Ok thanks, and the colour definitions? They don't seem to have an export option?

    You're welcome, tlukasha.

For Color Definitions, you can navigate to:

    C:\Users\[windows username]\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager

There is a file named 'ColorDefinitions.xml' in this folder. This file can be imported into HM3 → NoteCaddy → Tools → Import → Import Color Definitions.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are using badges, you will also want to copy over your NoteCaddy Badges. Here is how you would do that:

    Navigate to:
    C:\Users\[windows username]\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\NoteCaddyBadges

Select all files and copy them.

With HM3 (and server from taskbar) closed, paste the files into this directory:

    C:\Users\[windows username]\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0\AppsData\NoteCaddy\NoteCaddyBadges

Restart HM3, open some Color Definitions in NoteCaddy to make sure the badges images are attached properly.
