Exclamation Error in hand (Invalid/unresolved anonymous players)

Hello. I have been using the trial version for about 10 days, and everything worked fine until now.

The HUD won't show up anymore when I'm playing, and the following message is displayed at the bottom of the software : "Waiting for hands... Errors : x" (the number seems to grow and never stop, maybe it's re-importing all the hands I've played ?)

So when I check these errors there are all kind of messages : https://puu.sh/G2vqN/f3cd88415a.png

But the main one that seems to happen most of the time is the "invalid/unresolved anonymous players".

I don't know why this is happening now, because everything was fine and I didn't touch nor change any setting whatsoever. The only thing that I can think of, is that I played only Cash Games before today, and this morning I had a free ticket for a MTT so I played it. The HUD was working fine during the MTT, but a few hours later when I go back to my regular CG session it stopped working.

Some more screenshots of the errors log : https://puu.sh/G2vvV/c70371a9c0.png https://puu.sh/G2vwm/a17519429e.png

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Please try all the steps in this FAQ.

If you continue to have problems please zip and email the problem original hand histories and tournament summaries to us as instructed. Make sure you also include screenshots of your reports/filters and a detailed description by tournament number, session, hole cards, filter, stat, etc. of some of the errors we need to test.

Thanks for your reply, I eventually managed to fix it on my own.

If anyone has the same problem, this was caused by the fact that the archive folder and the "import hands" folder were the same, so there were a lot of duplicate .txt files. Purge all hands, delete all the duplicates, change the archive folder, import the hands folder again and it'll be solved.

    a) Purging all hands and importing to the same database again, without first compacting the database, is going to basically double the size of your database. I would recommend that you just create a new database, import the hands to that database, then delete the old database.

Please try to create a new small/test database: File - New Database* then manually import some hands via File - Import Folder - from C:\HM2Archive and/or C:\HM3Archive.

*Please do not create your HM3 Database in a sub-folder of any cloud file hosting service (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc) as it can cause database corruptions because it will constantly be syncing the database to the cloud while you are playing/importing.* You can configure HM3 to archive any auto imported hand history files to a cloud file hosting service folder if you choose to as that will not affect the SQLite database in any way, and you can obviously store any HM3 database backup files you create in a cloud folder instead of the default path HM3 suggests when backing up databases.

This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt, or you have hardware problems, you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created) and edit any tournament results if necessary. *I recommend keeping at least the most recent 2 or 3 backups in case the most recent one does not restore properly you can try the previous backup. *Here is a FAQ explaining how to backup your database and all settings in one easy step - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...onfigs+work%3F

    b) In the future if you ever need to purge hands to reduce a database size, or reimport (i) hands to the same database after purging some problem/incorrect hands, please make sure to compact the database after the purge. We do not yet have a compact database option built in to HM3 (ii) but it can be done manually.

    - Install the SQLite Browser - https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/
    - Restart your computer and leave HM3 and the HM3 Server (HUD Only Mode) closed.
    - Launch the SQLite Browser program and then click 'Open Database' option, switch the File Type box to 'All Files' and select your database you want to compact.
    - Now click Tools - 'Compact Database...' - 'OK'.
    - The process will likely say 'not responding' but just be patient as it can take a good bit of time for larger databases.
    - When the process finishes the 'Compact Database' window that had popped up will close and then you can close the main DB Browser software.

Here is a short video example of me showing the process on an old test database - https://www.dropbox.com/s/rxknx2tld0...owser.mp4?dl=0

    (i) Toggle on the HM3 - Tools - Settings - Import - [x] 'Allow reimport of previously imported hands' then import the files again using the HM3 - File - Import Folder/Files options.

(ii) This feature request has been documented in detail and provided to the developers for future consideration. *If you want to be notified if/when it is added please send an email via the 'Contact Support' link and include "Notify Me When HMT-4431 Is Resolved" in the subject line and body of the email.
