Default Color Code Pokerstars - Bugs

This feature is very buggy for me and is not applying the correct colors.

I have used this feature many times before in HEM2 so I'm confident I have set it up correctly.

    Settings I'm using:

I deleted the pre-existing definitions and created my own new ones.
The definitions I created were very simple and based only on "VPIP (compiled)"
I selected Pot limit omaha hands only.

After executing "Color Code Notes based on active definitions" , the color were applied but there were many players who had the wrong colors applied.

Also, there were many instances of me selecting FILE -> SAVE for each definition, and the saved changes being lost!

    Hi shaymalus,

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I'm going to test this tomorrow and see if I can replicate it, so we can get it fixed.

Are you able to upload your "ColorDefinitions.xml"? You can find it here: C:\Users\[WindowsUser]\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0\AppsData\NoteCaddy

In the meantime, is there a way to reinstate the definitions that came with HEM3 ? (which i deleted)

Yes, you can get the default color definitions back by following these steps:

    1) Close HM3
    2) Navigate to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0\AppsData\NoteCaddy
    3) Delete, Move, or Rename "ColorDefinitions.xml"
    4) Start HM3, you should have a fresh ColorDefinitions.xml generated with its default values.

Looks like I'm not going to be able to test the Color Coding being from the US. I'm sending this to a colleague to see if he'll be able to test it though.

    Hi Shaymalus,

My colleague tested the Color Definitions that you sent.

    Here is what he said:
"Color coding works for me, I've used the attached colordefinitions.xml file. I've edited them to use sample 3 instead of 20. And the green and blue definitions worked correctly, no one had vpip less than 40% so I'm unsure about the other 3 definitions, but I assume they also work. Editing color definitions doesn't work properly though. Sometimes edits aren't remembered."

He created a ticket for the Color Definition editing issue he encountered. So that should be fixed by the NC developer in a future update.

Regarding the Color Coding not working properly for you. Do you have anymore details about how they're not working properly? Can you try running them again perhaps?

    Yes, here is more detail:

I replicated the problem as follows:

    - I created only 2 active definitions

    1) Red, compiled VPIP, min25, max32. Sample 20.
    2) Teal, compiled VPIP, min0, max25. Sample 20.

    Both PLO hands only.

Upon execution, I selected option to remove existing colours.

With this setup, anybody with a vpip higher than 32 should have no colours applied.

    However:
    1) Many players with high vpip were given RED. ( i saw numerous examples of this, one player had vpip=80 and he was now red).
    2) I saw a player with yellow (this color should have been removed from a previous setup)
    3) Some players with vpip < 25 also had RED, when they should be teal now

    Hi shaymalus,

Thanks for the extra details. After further testing my colleague did find the issue. He wrote the ticket up for the NC developer to have a look at. It should get fixed up in one of the next NC updates.

This issue has not been resolved yet.
