    Lightbulb HM2 not running

    Hello,

    i didn't use HM2 for a while and so i needed to update it. After i installed the update nothing is working, Before i would start but couldn't do anything because i didn't update but now HM2 doesn't even start no more. What are my options?

    To give you some background i have an ASUS Laptop type K55A, with Windows 7 Home Premium and 4GB RAM and before the HM2 update it was running without a problem. I've tried a lot already, uninstall the update and tried it again. Uninstall HM2 and download it again , it also keeps saying i already installed PostgreSQL but i cant find it on my laptop but also can't install it. I hope someone can help me to run HM2 again, right now i have deleted everything so we can start from scratch i just want it to run again!

    Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer (even if you use a different web browser).

    1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.

    2) Delete the \PostgreSQL\X.x\data folder that is left behind.

    3) Delete the sub-folder(s) in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager\Da tabase (XP - c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager\Database).

    4) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

    net user postgres /delete

    After you click 'Enter' for the code above also do that same for this code:

    sc delete postgresql-8.4

    and click 'Enter' again.

    5) Restart your PC

    6) Install PostgreSQL 9.3 from https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloa...esql-downloads

    7) Once installed you should disable the postgresql logging as instructed here - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...arge+Log+Files

    If there is still an issue, we need to know the error - it is in the %Temp% folder - bitrockinstaller.txt file. *If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+


    Now install HM2:

    Reinstall HM2 from this file - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...er_2_Setup.exe

    - After downloading, you should right-click the file, go to properties and click unblock.*
    * If you do not see an 'unblock' option you can ignore this step.
    - Then, right click the file and run as administrator.

    Then update HM2:

    Please update to the latest beta version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe

    First of all i want to thank you for your time and effort.

    I've followed the steps exactly as described

    The windows update, took a couple times but fully updated.

    1- Uninstall PostgreSQL from Windows control Panel, all done.

    2- Delete the PostgreSQL folder, deleted everything so far i know. Searched for Postgre and PostgreSQL and was not able to find anything.

    3- Delete the sub-folder(s) in C, deleted the subfolder.

    4- run the command, thought this was tricky but very easy. Both confirmed and then i closed the program!

    5- Restart off course

    6- Install PostgreSQL 9.3, i downloaded PostgreSQL 9.3.25 that was the available 9.3 version within the link. Don't know if this good or bad?

    7- The disabling shown on the link was easy as well, double checked it aswell. But do i need to do anything now? Because you were refering to a solution if there is a problem. I've done every step but what does it change?

    Now about install HM2:

    I've reinstalled HM2 from the file and coulnd't find an unblock option(where could i find it exactly if visible?). Afterwards i clicked the file to run it as administrator and got the pop-up that the program was not capable of running on my 32bit windows system and i should contact the developers for a solution/help. So i think we have a problem at this point. Because i also couldnt get the HM2 to run at this point.

    What to do now?

    Please duplicate the issue and send us log files with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing:
    - Open Windows Event Viewer's (Control Panel - System & Security - Administrative Tools or Start - Search - 'Event Viewer') - Windows Logs - Applications.
    - Check for any errors and send the information (Save All Events As...)and compress*/attach that file to this support ticket.
    - Please send your \HM2Logs folder files as well.

    *When sending any files please zip them (right-click - send to - compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then right-click - 'copy dropbox link' and paste the download link directly into the support ticket email. If you have any problems with dropbox try using filedropper.com

    As we said above, create a ticket to send them and link to this thread.
