postgres help

I had malware on my PC so run farbar recovery scan tool as recommended by someone. Since then I can no longer connect to postgres. The start service BTN is not highlighted. Does this mean theres an issue with Postgres? Ive disable all firewalls and made sure port is still open but really have no clue how to proceed. When I click on services Postgres is not even on the list. Did it somehow get deleted? Still in my programme list as postgreSQL 8.4 so no clue. Thanks for any advice.

Should I uninstall and start from scratch? Looks as tho 8.4 is no longer even available for download so should I just use the latest version of postgreSQL?

Please duplicate the issue and send us log files with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing:
- Open Windows Event Viewer's (Control Panel - System & Security - Administrative Tools or Start - Search - 'Event Viewer') - Windows Logs - Applications.
- Check for any errors and send the information (Save All Events As...) and compress*/attach that file to this support ticket.
