This is almost certainly caused by a corrupt database or corrupt PSQL installation. You said you tried a new DB and tried reinstalling PSQL, but are you sure you completely uninstalled all remnants of PSQL and installed a newer 9.x version of PSQL instead of 8.4 that HM2 ships with?

Which Operating System, Firewall, and AntiVirus are you using?

Many of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, Zonealarm, Avira, Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work well with Holdem Manager. They can block the database folder, keeping us from writing to it. In some cases, we have seen them corrupt Windows to the point the hard drive needs to be reformatted. We do not recommend using them at any time with HM2. We recommend Microsoft Security Essentials or Kaspersky for the lowest chance of HM2 conflicts while staying protected against viruses.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

    1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
    2) Reboot your computer
    3) Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe
    - After downloading, you should right-click the file, go to properties and click unblock.*
    * If you do not see an 'unblock' option you can ignore this step.
    - Then, right click the file and run as administrator.
    4) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel, turn off Windows Defender (unless you are using Windows 10, in which case it should be enabled), and add firewall exceptions for HM and SQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rewall%29#MSES
    5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials (unless you are using Windows 10) for antivirus/malware protection and update it - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14210

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If you continue to have problems, hloere are full PSQL reinstall steps.

Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer (even if you use a different web browser).

Please note that reinstalling PostgreSQL will mean losing all your old data. If you have access to HM2 and your database was not corrupt then please follow these instructions for backing up your database as a precaution in case you cannot reconnect after reinstalling PostgreSQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...onfigs+work%3F

If you cannot access the database in HM2 then you can backup your database using this method: http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...nced+Method%29 but if your database was corrupt then the best solution is to reimport all your hands from C:/HM2archive folder or if your pokersite supports it you can request all your hands and summaries and reimport them as restoring a corrupt database will just restore all the problems you had.

    1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.

    2) Delete the \PostgreSQL\X.x\data folder that is left behind.

    3) Delete the sub-folder(s) in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager\Da tabase (XP - c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager\Database).

    4) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

    net user postgres /delete

After you click 'Enter' for the code above also do that same for this code:

    sc delete postgresql-8.4

    and click 'Enter' again.

    5) Restart your PC

    6) Install PostgreSQL 9.3 from http://www.enterprisedb.com/products...wnload#windows

    7) Once installed you should disable the postgresql logging as instructed here - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...arge+Log+Files

If there is still an issue, we need to know the error - it is in the %Temp% folder - bitrockinstaller.txt file. *If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+

Please explain what you mean. You can't install Postgres?

You can't create a new database?

    You can't import from c:\hm2archive?

    What exactly is not working?
    Regards udbrky (Chris)

You don't have to extract, or export or do anything with your hands in the bad database. You will import the original hands the poker client wrote for the original auto import to the new database.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD.* It is configured in the Site Setup - Auto Import Folders menu.

You are looking for a text file in a temp folder, not a temp file. If you open Windows File Explorer and copy the %Temp% we posted to your File Explorer address bar you would see your %Temp% directory like I do here:

I don't have a bitrockinstaller.txt file as I haven't had cause to install PSQL in a very long time.

Please send your HM2Logs folder and that bitrockinstaller file if you can find it, with screenshots and a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing, with a link to this thread and your forum name.
