I moved hm to a new laptop and since then the date is in the American format, how can I switch it back to the European one?

This is most likely related to differences in your Windows Region & Language/Format settings in the two machines, not HM3. Try toggling the HM3 - Tools - Settings - Language: option to your local or system language option.

What was each of their region, language and date/time number format options set to, and what was each HM3's 'Language' option set on? Try matching all of those settings on the new machine with with the old machine. Setting Windows to all your preferred region/formats and then matching that with the HM3 Language = 'System Language' should get them to the format you are wanting.
