Default Trying to salvage my DB and my player notes

    Hi there,

I broke my old CPU and it wouldnt start now but I can access the hard drive by plugging it at a secondary drive on my new CPU

Old CPU was using postgres 8.4 and my new CPU is using 11.x...

Is there a way for me to find my DB and import it in a new one or something like that ?

If I could find my old HUD, that would be great too!

    Thanks!

Please see this FAQ to transfer/backup data - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...dem+Manager%3F

This will ensure that you have your hand histories and HUD saved to import into a new computer, and as a backup to restore in case of an emergency. I recommend you do this at least once a month and keep the last 2 or 3 most recent backups (and your \HM2Archive folder) stored on an external drive and/or cloud storage site like dropbox or google drive.

There are instructions in the link above on how to manually find the HUD/Settings files since you can't backup the settings/database from the old drive.

HM2 does not support PostgreSQL 11.x. The highest we support is postgresql 9.3, but the only way for you to try and recover the old database, without having to recreate it by manually importing the original hands from your old C:\HM2Archive, is to move the old HM2 \users directory \Database folder and the postgresql \data folder from the old computer drive to the new computer drive and then manually reinstall the same version of postgresql and point the installer to your old \data folder.

Your HM2 Database Parent directory is located at C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager. If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...es+in+Windows+

The PostgreSQL \Data directory location is explained in the FAQ linked at the end below.

    1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.

    2) Run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator and type the following and then press enter:

    net user postgres /delete

    3) You should get a successfully completed response if done correctly. If you get a permission type error you likely didnt run it as administrator as explained above.

    4) Reboot your PC

    5) Install the same version of PostgreSQL (HM2 ships with 8.4) - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/postgres84 - as your previous database using these instructions - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rving+database
