    Default HM 2.0.0.8544 export/import

    Hello,
I am moving to a new computer and backuped the DB into a file about 560mb large. When I try to restore it onto my new computer it's instant and the HoldemManager2 db doesn't grow at all from it's original ~6mb. I get no error messages at all. What could be wrong?

    On the original database:

Please try to vacuum/analyze and reindex your database - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...29#maintenance

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If the new database seems to work properly, it sounds like your database might be corrupt. Please continue to use the new database and import the rest of your hands using the steps above. This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created) and edit any tournament results if necessary. I recommend keeping at least the most recent 2 or 3 backups in case the most recent one does not restore properly you can try the previous backup.

Here is a FAQ explaining how to backup your database and all settings in one easy step - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...onfigs+work%3F

If you continue to have problems, please duplicate the issue and send us log files with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing:
    - Open Windows Event Viewer's (Control Panel - System & Security - Administrative Tools or Start - Search - 'Event Viewer') - Windows Logs - Applications.
    - Check for any errors and send the information (Save All Events As...).
    - Please send your \HM2Logs folder files as well - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ger+Support%3F

When sending any files please zip them (right-click - send to - compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then right-click - 'copy dropbox link' and paste the download link directly into the support ticket email. If you have any problems with dropbox try using filedropper.com

Thank you for the tips. I've never had any problems with the old DB. Could I try to use the Cloud sync from my old to my new DB or is there any risk involved with that?

There are a variety of known issues with the HM Sync Beta feature where the results (generally tournament) are not syncing properly for some customers. *We recommend you manually sync your hands on both PCs. *Here is a FAQ explaining how to best keep your original hands on both computers so you can easily sync the hands manually - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...+Using+Dropbox

Please see this FAQ to transfer/backup data - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...dem+Manager%3F

This will ensure that you have your hand histories and HUD saved to import into a new computer, and as a backup to restore in case of an emergency. I recommend you do this at least once a month and keep the last 2 or 3 most recent backups (and your \HM2Archive folder) stored on an external drive and/or cloud storage site like dropbox or google drive.

    Hello again,
I did some further testing. I created a new database on old computer named HM2Test, set it to active and tried restoring the same backup file that wouldn't be restored on my new laptop and it worked fine. Everything is there so it seems the db is not corrupt like you first suspected. Now what could be wrong with my brand new laptop? I am logged in with Administrator rights, I installed the same version of Postgresql and HEM I was using on old computer and I have no other programs installed except for Google Chrome.

    Hello,
Please advice as soon as possible. I'm going to move abroad but it hinges on getting this working.
    Thanks in advance
