    Default HM lagging too much

    Hi! I play on PS.com

Today HM2 is lagging very much, causing all other software to lag as well.

two processes (HM.exe & HudFuncsApp.exe) combine for 20-50% CPU usage constantly (in comparison to 0-10-15% standard).

I've tried to close everything but PS and HM - nothing helps.

If there's only HM - it's very calm with 0-5% CPU usage.

What could be the problem and what can i try to solve it?

I'm really sorry and I know there is nothing more frustrating than having issues like this when trying to play. I hope i can help you resolve this quickly.

What is your hard drive model, RAM and CPU? You can find this in your Control Panel - System - Device Manager. Sometimes lower spec PC's can contribute to lagging but that is not to say we can't still improve it further.

Are you running Notecaddy also and do you have many definitions or use any of the NC Edge or NC Advantage packages? Those can also have an impact on large database with large definitions. If you do I would suggest reading this thread which will help improve the performance when using NC - NoteCaddy speed improvement - Assaultware Wiki

You can also try the steps in the following AJA Performance Guide - http://www.notecaddy.com/NoteCaddy%2...ide%20v1.2.pdf

How big is your database and how many hero hands are in the database? If you have a large database you can try to edit the hm2 config file to force HM2 to use more or less RAM and see if it helps. Here is a text document with instructions if you want to try that also - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...kingSetCap.txt

In the meantime while you reply with those details I have a couple of things you can try that will improve the performance of your PC in general and may help if this scanning is the cause of the issues you're seeing.

Please check these 2 FAQs and try all the steps there to see if they help:
    - Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: Software Security Problems (Firewall) - Resolves issues where security software continually try to scan files and processes which can slow down your PC
    - Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: Fix Holdem Manager 2 Lagging (Reports & HUD) - General tips and solutions for performance issues

A few other things you could try to see if it helps when playing:
    - Does it help you disable the Settings > General Settings > Miscellaneous > [ ] 'Automatically Refresh' option and restart HM2?
    - Try leaving HM2 on the 'Home' tab when playing.
    - Try picking a villain in the reports that only has a few hands in your database instead of your hero and restart HM2.
    - Try creating a new smaller database with just hands from the past 1 or 2 months to use when playing - Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: How to create a new database and import previously played hands

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem, describe exactly what you were doing, and attach your new \HM2logs folder -

    Hi!

    PC config:
Intel SSD 60gb - only for HM2/postgres // windows, pokerstars and files are on separate Samsung SSD 250ggb
    RAM - 6 gb
    CPU - intel core quad q6600 @ 2.4ghz

UAC, Firewall and Antiverus are turned off.

I have notecaddy with a lot of personal stats.

I've tried to create the new DB with like 15k hands. It doesn't help.

I've already done most of the steps to improve PC/HM2 performance.

    ===============

Thing is HM2 works fine for like 3 hours. Then suddenly starts to use enormous %% of my PC, while doing nothing visible.

So i sit out on all tables. close other software like starshelper, seater etc.
I also have "hide hud if there's no hero" checked, so after couple minutes hud is not even displayed and no hands are imported. And HM2 is on "home" tab.

And it still use a shit load of my PC.
I can't even close it at this point with "x".
So i close with "x", wait for 5 minutes, nothing happens -> i go to task manager and close HM2 forcefully.

    =============

I attach my logs. Hopefully you'll be able to find something there.

I've updated PokerStars several days ago, but i believe i've played some good sessions with this new version.
Other than that - nothing changed: no windows update, new stats, config etc.

Don't ever post logs in the forum. We advise to send in a ticket. It has your license info in it.

You have a large number of old (unsupported/stuck) hand history files in your auto import folders. See this FAQ to resolve those issues - Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: Play Money Hands

Did you try the default HUD?

    Did you try uninstalling Eset?

We recommend Kaspersky and Microsoft Security Essentials.

With this HHs thing is there are some $$ hands, that were started but cancelled after villain or me not posting blind.
But most of them are correct EUR/GBP hands, that HM2 recognises as play_money-hands for some reason.

What's the point of trying the default HUD?

I'll try to uninstall ESET later.

Clearing "HEM Data" actually helped a bit. but not enough.

Then i did all what in quote^^^
    uninstall ESET
    new DB with 1k hands
    default hud with only vpip-pfr-name

As long as i run PS+HM2 - seem to work fine.

If i add a software that controls my seating - then HM2 starts to use CPU too much.

The software opens free tables, but it doesn't use any kind of HM-stats or DB - it only operates with the color-marks of PS-client.

I dont really get how these two (HM2 and seater) could be related, but they do.

    Any ideas?

I'm not sure what all the seating program does, and thus cannot explain what all could be causing the issue, but I can imagine that it would be causing stress on the system for sure, depending on how it reads the information.

    So we have:

    PS + HM2 = ok
    PS + Seater = ok
    PS + HM2 + Seater = problems.

Could you look at my log that will include this situation:
    PS_+_HM2_+_Seater --> close Seater ---> PS + HM2

and tell what's the difference in HM2 performance before/after ?
which log would you need? may be HUD-logging?

Cause when i close seater - the system is instantly relieved. But it does nothing wrong on its own. There seem to be something that seater forces HM2 to do for some reason.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and zip/attach your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing - Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: How Do I Send a Log File to Holdem Manager Support?
