Buying HM2 during HM3 = free upgrade ?

I saw an administrator saying that if someone bought HM2 during the HM3 beta, he will receive a free
upgrade to HM3. Is it right ?

So if i buy hm2 right now (even low stakes) would I receive the free upgrade ?
