You can back up just the notes, then restore it to the new database.
Please see this FAQ to transfer/backup data:
Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: What Files Should I Backup to Protect my Holdem Manager?
This will ensure that you have your hand histories and HUD saved to import into a new computer, and as a backup to restore in case of an emergency. I recommend you do this at least once a month and keep the last 2 or 3 most recent backups (and your \HM2Archive folder) stored on an external drive and/or cloud storage site like dropbox or google drive.

Hi,
I've already set up transferring my hands from one computer to another.
Now I would like to know if it is somehow possible to delete only notes from database since I would like to compose notes on my main PC and then transfer it to the second PC by backup and restore.
But when I restore my notes on second PC they are not overwritten but duplicated with an import date marking like this:
Clipboard01.jpg
So is there any way to overwrite it or maybe delete it before I will make the new notes import?
Thank you.
This is not possible. We have a feature request that would make what you want possible but there are no short term plans to implement it for HM2 as it was wrote in 2014 and no one else ever bumped that thread or asked to be added to the notification list for the ticket.
HM-7878: Restored Notes behavior improvements
Requested here - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/gene...-note-wtf.html
- An option to over-write existing notes similar to the old behavior?
- If over-writing existing notes do not show the restored notes header
I saw many threads about this problem in this forum, so I guess for many people who plays on multiple computers it's crucial, especially when HMcloud doesn't transferring notes and markings.
So there is no other way then just delete whole database and restore it again?
I think it's a bit akward if we take to account that we only want restoring plain text notes.
If you restore the backup file to a new empty database and toggle off everything except the player/hand notes options then import whatever hands you want for your new smaller database I think it might do what you want except that all of the notes on the players will have that header and footer about restored notes that you would need to edit out whenever you write new notes on players.
It might be possible to somehow edit the database with pgadmin to strip all those headers/footers out en masse but I am no postgresql expert so you would have to research/ask that on a postgresql forum.
OK thanks, I'll check that.
Last thing is can you explain me that difference between player notes and hand notes in backup/restore?
hand notes are about hands, not players. So you can note things about that hand for review.

Can you tell me where can I make note about specific hand? I never saw such a thing.
Maybe you mean hand tags?
I thought hand tags and marked hands fall under "hand markings".
