I take notes while playing with the HM2 notes window, I ran a backup before installing Win 10, how can I find these notes in my backup? What is the file called? I hope they are in my backup

Restore the backup - you can restore into the database and choose to skip the database. The menu will give you the options of what all you want to restore.
There is no separate file of the notes.

ok but I didn't use the HM2 client, I used my seagate external hard drive
oh ok, all I did was run the windows selected backup to my ext hd, and upgrade to win10 from win7. Then I noticed while playing that I didn't have any notes appearing. I made a new database so would I need to export the notes from the old one to the new one? I don't see any option to export the player notes from the db. I know how to backup the notes.
All of my NC definitions are still working after the win10 update.
*I just switched back to my old db as I have not deleted it from HM2, and the notes are still there. How can I transfer them over to my new database? Sorry for bothering.

In the old database: Home tab--> Database--> Backup--> select Player Notes (and Hand Notes / Hand Markings).
Turn on: skip database.
Start Backup.

Then in the new database--> Home tab--> Database--> Restore--> Restore the notes.
Important: a player note can only be restored if the player the note is on exists in the database. So make sure your new database contains all your hands first.
