Default Possible to Install HM2 and PostgresSQL in separate hard drives? Good idea?

I have a new computer with one SSD and one HDD.

I also have a massive database. I've purchased some HHs to study and have an absolute outstanding amount of hands. Millions upon millions. My database is approaching 200GB and I will almost certainly purchase more hands in the future to study. So understandably I don't want to put such a large database on my SSD.

    So here are my ideas:

    1) Keep my own hands on my HM2 as normal and have all purchased hands on a separate external HD or a separate HDD on my computer (is this possible?)

    2) I have an external hard drive with 3TB. Can I just keep my entire HM2 and database on an external drive? Is that possible? Will that create problems with performance?

    3) Try anything you guys may suggest.

I also want to know if it's possible to move such a large database off my computer later on without screwing anything up.

    Thanks.

    Purchased hands to study...

People like you are selfishly killing the game - even if you aren't using those stats in live play you are still giving your money to people who supply people who do

Just because you can doesn't make it right

We do not provide help for datamining hands.
