Default Problems using seek on notecaddy

When I created definitions and then try to test them using 'seek' it takes ages as it searches all my hands. Can I not tell it to only search say 5K hands to speed it up a bit?
Thought I could click 'stop seek' and it would stop there and show me results so far, but it doesn't show me anything.

And also when creating definitions and needing to define note recepients position. I can do this either in action sequences tab or it seems in general tab. What are the differences and why does it seem that I can do this in two places?

    thanks

Use HM2 filters to find hands and then put them in the test environment to test Best practices for creating NoteCaddy definitions - Assaultware Wiki

Action sequences are the recommended place to put these

Just had a look at test environment and to be honest it seems like a very difficult way of testing note definitions.
Is there no way to limit the amount of hands that seek looks for? It used to work pretty quickly on my machine but now takes forever!
Or could I create a minidata base of say 10K hands for it to search?
    thanks

A small test database is probably a good idea
