Afterwards, you will need to undo what AVG has done.

Please see this FAQ to alleviate any security bottlenecks - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...olders+HM2+use

Please try to vacuum/analyze and reindex your database - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...29#maintenance

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If the new database seems to work properly, it sounds like your database might be corrupt. Please continue to use the new database and import the rest of your hands using the steps above.

Since every seat shows 2 hands and the positions are off, it looks like Stars is not saving the hands, and you are only importing the prefetched hands. http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...er+Stars+Setup

Thank you very much for the information, I'll let you know if it does or doesn't help resolve my issues. I have to admit though I find it disconcerting that I've never heard of the severity of damage that can be done to my computer from a combination of these 2 softwares. Given the popularity of, well anti virus software, why is it not really mentioned anywhere that potentially this program and AVG combined could completely ruin my pc?

It's not the specific combination, it's just AVG in general. The way it memory swaps and holds data can cause a lot of different issues. In general, it also over blocks programs that are of no harm to your system. There are better options available if you're going to run / use a virus scanner.
