Default Basic tutorials? or Newbie guide?

This is my first stab at using poker software. In fact, I am returning to online poker after a pretty long absence. I was simply a casual player before as well, but I'd like to take a more serious run at it this time. I've been playing poker for a long time in home games and sporadic visits to the local casino for over ten years now, but my online game could use a lot, lot, lot of improvement. I have heard a lot of praise about using software and HM2 came up alot, so I figured it was worth the investment. However, it is a bit daunting at first. I am not even sure, I'm embarrassed to admit, what all 4 numbers in the default HUD represent. I believe it goes VPIP, PFR, and then ?, ?. I can't even seem to find an answer to that simple bit anywhere.

Is there a newbie guide anywhere that anyone knows of? Something that explains the basics, and what some of the number mean, and maybe even what numbers are good to focus on for novice users and players?

I want to learn to get the most out of this tool, but right now it seems to mostly be a confusing wall of numbers

    EDIT:

Found part of my answers I think, re: default player HUD.

[1] Some of my comments here may help:

    [2] Here's the HM2 FAQ index:

[3] Here's 2+2 forums index. An OK resource if you have very specific questions there'll be an answer there among the mountains of rubbish:
Two Plus Two Poker Forum - Poker Strategy Forums

[4] My own advice to you is in the link in [1] - basically use just the very basic HUD for the first month or two
It will take time to understand four stats & the more complex stats are useless until you've got hundreds of hands [minimum] on any player

    Any more questions?

The HM2 Coaching Videos Widget on the Home tab has some videos that may be helpful and you can find other free videos out there on youtube, cardrunners and other poker forums and strategy/video sites.

If you have any specific questions or problems feel free to post in this thread, start a new thread or email us.

    Thanks for the tips.

I picked up Crushing the Microstakes as well as Harrington on Online Cash Games. Both seem to be very decent references for starting out in the micros. Particularly Crushing the Microstakes. That book is great so far. Both are really.
