Default Safe way to restart HM

    Hi,

is there a safe way to force the restart of HM?

The problem is that quite often HM just sits in background process and I cannot start it again because of that. If I just end the process using Task Manager, then it results in crashing of some notecaddy notes. After that I need to recreate the whole DB (resetting notes doesn't help).

And HM can sit in background processes for hours. Is there a workaround here?

Please see this FAQ to alleviate any security bottlenecks - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...olders+HM2+use

Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...7%7D7+%26+8%29

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Many of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, Zonealarm, Avira, Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work well with Holdem Manager.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

    1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
    2) Reboot your computer
    3) Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe
    4) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel, turn off Windows Defender, and add firewall exceptions for HM and SQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rewall%29#MSES
    5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus/malware protection and update it - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

If you continue to have problems, please duplicate the issue and send us log files with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing:
    - Open Windows Event Viewer's - Windows Logs - Applications.
    - Check for any errors and send the information (Save All Events As...).
    - Please send a log file as well - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ger+Support%3F

    Hi,

I'm trying to do everything that was on the first link.

    Here's the part of it:
    Gyazo - 155657100e143aa2abca3c595bc48763.png

"Finally make sure all the tick boxes for allow as ticked for that user and select apply and ok."
as you can see on the screenshot in the article, the checkboxes are grey and not available for chenging. All of them are checked except the "Special permissions". Is that fine?

Are they all checked? That's what you want. Did you add "Everyone"?

    All, except the last one

And I don't know how to make it checked.

    Did you add "Everyone"?
    Now I did.

    That is fine.

I removed the ss since it has your email in it.

Please try to vacuum/analyze and reindex your database - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...29#maintenance

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If the new database seems to work properly, it sounds like your database might be corrupt. Please continue to use the new database and import the rest of your hands using the steps above.

    udbrky,

I've made several databases since the last post and the issue was on every of them. Currently I play on WPN network and I also experience solid lags. HM2 restarts finely when there's no lag but when there is a lag then it refuses to stop. I need to stop it using task manager.

So what else might be the cause of the issue if the problem is not the DB?

If you continue to have problems, please duplicate the issue and send us log files with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing:
    - Open Windows Event Viewer's (Control Panel > System & Security > Administrative Tools or Start > Search > 'Event Viewer') > Windows Logs > Applications.
    - Check for any errors and send the information (Save All Events As...).
    - Please send a HM2 log file as well.

When sending any files please zip them (right-click > send to > compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then right-click > 'copy public link' and paste the download link directly into the support ticket email. If you have any problems with dropbox try using filedropper.com
