Question Installing HM2 + related software on alternate HDD?

I'm about to do a clean install of Windows on a new SSD and i'd like to know if there is any particular trick to installing HM2 + PostgreSQL on to my D:\ drive (a smaller SSD) as well as having the HMArchive folder there too.

    Thanks

    A) Install postgresql first using an installer from postgresql.org as ours will install it to C drive and not give you an option to pick another drive.

Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer (even if you use a different web browser).

Start at step 6 if PSQL has not ever been installed:

    1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel

    2) Delete the \PostgreSQL\8.x\data folder that is left behind.

    3) Delete the sub-folder(s) in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager\Da tabase (XP - c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager\Database).

    4) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

    net user postgres /delete

    5) Restart your PC

    6) Install PostgreSQL 9.0 or 9.2 from postgresql.org

    7) Once installed you should disable the postgresql logging as instructed here - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...arge+Log+Files

    B) Now you can install HM2. Make sure you put the parent database folder in a folder on your D drive also if space on your C drive is a concern.

    C) Copy your archive folder to the D drive where you want it and configure your newly auto imported hands to archive there in the Site Setup > Auto Import Folders options.

Thanks a lot, seems straightforward enough.

Just gotten around to actually trying this and when installing HM2 it doesn't allow me to not install PostgresSQL along with HM2 itself.

You have to install PSQL first then HM2. HM2 should detect it then and not install it again. If it doesn't detect it because it is not on the C drive then just uninstall 8.4 after you install HM2 and HM2 should work with the 9.x version you manually installed.
