Default PokerStars UK new build. Possible HH writing problem.

    QUESTIONS:-
Any reports received by support regarding some Zoom cash hands not being written to HDD by the PS client?
Any suggestions how I might diagnose the fault if PS support can't help? [I've contacted them]

    BACKGROUND:-
Yesterday PokerStars 7 updated in the UK to include casino games such as blackjack
The PS build is now 9159
    I'm using HM2 2.0.0.8247

    MISSING HANDS:-
I've played two 6-max cash Zoom sessions since then in both cases a small proportion of the hands [around 10%] were not written to my HDD
I could see this in real time because I have my total winnings [or losses] for the session displayed in my Hero HUD
I confirmed this by requesting HHs from PS & importing them which added the missing hands - thus some of the hands are on the PS server, but not on my HDD
The problem coincides with the PS update

    NOTES:-
** I've emailed PS support with the PS log & the HH written to my HDD & the requested HH - waiting for a response. If they have anything interesting to say I'll report here
** I didn't close the client early & anyway the missing HH are from the middle of each session
** I haven't had a chance to compare the HH [yet] to see if there's anything unusual with the missing hands, but I will today or tomorrow
** All my paths in the PS client match exactly the ones detected in HM2
** These are the same paths as before the update
** There are no clogged HHs in any path
    ** Windows 7 + windows firewall + windows defender - nothing else
** Checked defender & firewall etc as per the Zoom FAQ & all is correct

"...we have received a similar report from another player. This fact lead us to the conclusion that there is a software issue maybe. So we have reported this problem to our Programming Team already and they are currently working on a fix. [...] Regards Andre support@uk.pokerstars.com..."

That's fine. What about the first of my two questions?

You are the first to report it and it sounds like you did what we would have suggested (import hands that were wrote to disk then import hands support sends and see if the files from support contain hands for those sessions that weren't wrote to disc) and it sounds like stars has confirmed they have a problem with their client update.

One of our testers confirmed your findings and feels also that the issue is with the stars client.

I'm trying your suggestion here as a test:-

I set up "C:\PS HH" & "C:\PS TS" per your instructions + added these folders to Windows Defender "Excluded files & folders" [probably an irrelevant step]

** Played 500 Zoom hands & all have been written to my HDD [I requested HH & ran a check]
** Might be real fix or luck [& bug will return] or PokerStars fixed the issue
** Will further test in a few hours & report back
** Noticed that hanging those folders directly off C:\ has returned the HUD responsiveness to what it was before the casino update - don't understand why that is since the two "...AppData\Local..." paths were the same before/after casino update so surely properties are the same?
    ** I've left this path untouched "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\HEM Data\Hands"
Q1. Any advantage in changing that path to "C:\HEM Data" or "C:\HEM Data\Hands"?
Q2. If there is an advantage why is there a "Hands" subfolder?

    Cheers!

1 - That is done in HM, it will just create the folder new.

2 - This is prefetched hands, that Stars writes to see if you want to stay at a table.

This fix works for many cases we've seen, so I think it's a permanent solution, and I'm confident you will find it to be as well.

OK. So I will leave path "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\HEM Data\Hands" because if I change it to "C:\HEM Data" ~ HM will ignore that & recreate the prefetch path to "...AppData\Roaming..."

Out of curiosity... does anyone know why the "...AppData\Local..." path causes problems sometimes for the PS HH & TS? I have UAC turned off, I use my PC as Admin, permissions are correct & I had exclusions from scanning for those paths in Windows Defender. I also had the folders properties set up to read/write. I suppose something is scanning those locations intermittently blocking [or slowing down] the read/write to those folders - what could that be? And why did it happen after the PokerStars casino update, but it was OK before?

EDIT:- The only other thing I could think of was the Windows Indexing Service interfering somehow with reads/writes so I've told the service to not index anything related to PostgreSQL/HM2/Poker Sites. I have no need to search those locations anyway
