It was actually a combination of bugs that shouldn't be a problem anymore but we still suggest it from time to time if we think there could be a permissions problem. Stars had a bug where they would right the hand history path as \HandHistoryPlayername instead of \HandHistory\Playername and HM2 couldn't detect/import from these oddly named folders. We updated HM2 some time to address this stars client issue and properly detect these incorrect folders their client was creating/using.

And why did it happen after the PokerStars casino update, but it was OK before?

I don't think making this folder will help your problem. I am 99% sure your issue is a bug in the stars client. Those instructions you quoted were me replying to someone that was having problems auto importing and it wasn't clear if he had configured Stars/HM2 properly and he didn't mention which HM2 build he was using so I wanted to give him the simplest instructions to be sure he had things setup properly.

Thank you for the detailed explanation - I like to know what going on under the HUD

False dawn - 6% of hands not written to HDD today.
Sent another log to PokerStars in hopes it will speed a fix.

Not too big a deal really - just a nuisance requesting HH/manual importing daily to fill the gaps

That's weird - 6% were just not in the files at all?

That's right - not in the .txt file written to my HDD. Trying to figure out what connects the missing hands - none of missing hands so far are big pots. I'm going to do a comparison now on a small sample [150-hand session] which should produce say 10 missing hands & see if there's a common feature. Restricting myself to one table of zoom to see if number of tables is a factor. Will report back.

Sent another PS log to PS - think they're getting annoyed - I could almost hear a sigh in their reply which confirmed "it's being looked at" by their programmers...

OK. I'm getting somewhere. I played a test session of 171 Zoom 6-max cash hands on just one table
167 hands were written to my HDD and 4 hands were not.

I had three long stretches where I was card dead [or facing aggro villains oop] & speed folded a lot of hands in a row. The missing hands were all the last hand [or two hands] of these stretches. My speed folding is very quick because I'm using the PokerStars hotkey system. I am thinking that I'm building up a lot of tables that are still playing after I've moved on & this is a problem for my system or this *backlog* is a problem at the PokerStars server end. What do you guys think?

    Here's a breakdown of events:-

[A] HAND #36 NOT WRITTEN TO HDD
From hands 23 to 36 [a sequence of 14 hands] I folded pre-flop without betting
    Hand 37 I called a bet

    [B] HANDS #143 & #144 NOT WRITTEN TO HDD:-
From hands 135 to 144 [a sequence of 10 hands] I folded pre-flop without betting
    Hand 145 I 3bet

[C] HAND #157 NOT WRITTEN TO HDD:-
From hands 149 to 157 [a sequence of nine hands] I folded pre-flop without betting or I got a walk
Hand 158 I stole the blinds

I've been having this issue and i've definitely lost quite a few big hands, not just small pots. I noticed that after playing pots that they weren't showing up in the list of the 3 most recent hands at that table when i wanted to mark them for review.

I'm going to email Stars now to see what they say. I wondered if i was getting worried over nothing but i noticed in a PG+C thread on two plus two that a poster noticed hands were missing, and two others posted to say they had the same.

    Unhappy

I am having the same problem and have been doing so for a few days.

I tried "vacuum analyse" in HM2 database maintenance but that didn't solve the problem

I have both smaller and big all in pots are not showing up on Pokerstars UK replayer and not in HM2.

I think it happens when you quickly sit out after the hand?

Yes. I've had one or two large pots unrecorded since my above post

you could easily confirm your idea yourself from examining the timings of the missing hands in HM2 [Make a note of which hands are added when you import requested PS HHs].

I don't think your idea is correct. However & you can test it for yourself by only playing one table of say 100 hands without sitting out & see if all your hands are written or not

I have resigned myself to not having 5% of my hands written to my HDD & I just request a PS HH every day from PS to fill the gaps. The auto-HH request only delivers the lest 200 hands so I make a point of emailing support every day & request my last 5,000 hands which a human has to process. Maybe that will encourage PS to fix this glitch a little quicker....
