Default HM2 Crashing after latest update

    Hi

When playing on starts for around 10 minutes, all tables freeze, in task manager all pstars tables are in "not responding"
I notice that HM is also unresponsive.
If I kill HM2, all pokerstars tables become responsive again and I carry on playing.

Does anyone else have this or have experienced this?

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.**

Add exceptions to the windows firewall and antivirus program for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.**

**do the same for the PokerStars.exe
If you play Zoom, also do it for blitz.dll and starscommunicator.hm2.

Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Turn off User Account Control: Turn User Account Control on or off - Windows Help

    Hey,

I also have problems with crashing. After some time HM freezes and crashes. Also tables freezes until HM is closed, which is very annoying. It crashed 5 times during my last session. I also did everything you written in previous post.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Are you saying the crashing STARTED after the update? Some things to try before the experts reach this thread...
Here's a HM2 FAQ on resolving crashing if it's nothing to do with latest update
    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...hing+issues%3F

Things I would check first if I were you:- Check what's using the most CPU during lagging - keep task manager running and have it sort by CPU in the Processes TAB & see what is top of the list when the lagging happens. Check that windows is absolutely up-to-date - there was a large Windows update on Tuesday. Have you checked that all those updates installed successfully? Did you reboot your PC? What version HM2? What % of your HDD is free? Have you optimised your postgreSQL database?

Perhaps your Avast! sensitivity is set too high? After you've done the above & rebooted try disabling Avast Shields Control or Avast! entirely BEFORE opening HM2 & the poker client [or put Avast! in Silent Gaming mode] via the Avast! tray icon.

It may not be the solution, but there's a new beta update available via your HM2 if you have beta notifications turned on in HM2. IMPORTANT:- Disable Avast! before launching HM2 or the update download will be quarantined.

Did you send in the crash report?

I’m sorry to hear your experiencing issues with Holdem Manager. We reviewed the log file you sent, please follow these instructions to fix the issue:

Step 1 – Restore Default Settings:
First try restoring your default settings, often some settings files can become corrupt and cause these issues:
    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...fault+settings

Step 2 – Uninstall and reinstall HM2 with Revo uninstaller:
Other times critical system files may not have been installed on previous updates and it can also cause these types of errors or in some cases antiviruses may have removed files that it mistook for unsafe. Doing a revo uninstall also removes old registry file information which might have become corrupt. You can download the free version here: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems and there is a useful tutorial how to use it here:
How To Use Revo Uninstaller To Completely Uninstall Programs

Uninstall Holdem Manager 2 via Revo unistaller and then reinstall this version:
    http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...er_2_Setup.exe

Please add this file to your firewall and antivirus exceptions and run it as Administrator.

Step 3 – Follow the steps in this FAQ:

    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...olders+HM2+use

Step 4: If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem, describe exactly what you were doing, and attach your log.txt file -

I started having more crashes lately. I already started using MSE (AVAST prev.). I update everything as soon as it comes out, so I have latest HM version. I've got around 30% of HDD free. PostgreSQL is also already tuned. I'm on parallels (win7) if that matters and I'm also using Tilt Breaker.
I also noticed that, after every session I have couple of GBs less disk space. I downloaded TreeSize and it shows pagefile.sys is around 12GB, and hiberfil.sys is around 9GB? Also in windows folder/system32/%localappdata%/crashdumps/: here I have 9 files: HoldemManager.exe4536.dmp (different numbers), each is around 2GB. Should I delete those files?

    Thanks for helping

Thanks. Will try this at the weekend. Is it ok to backup/restore DB or do you suggest reimport hands, NC notes rather and restore only settings which I need?

You can delete the HoldemManager.exe.dmp files.

I'd suggest to not backup/restore, but reimport your hands and notes into a new empty database.

Losing of couple of GB of diskspace after each session often is a NoteCaddy issue, read: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/note...xpectedly.html
