Notecaddy Updater always times out

    Default Notecaddy Updater always times out

    Hi!

    Several tries of updating to NoteCaddy 2.5 I always get this error message: "Unable to update! Error: The operation has timed out."

    HM2 is on the latest version. I have Windows 8 and Avira Antivirus with all necessary Firewall exceptions added.

    Please help.

    Must be some firewall issue to the notecaddy site but you can still update manually How to make sure you have the very latest NoteCaddy build - Assaultware Wiki

    I did it manually. Now the NoteCaddy version is 2.5.0.15 but it keeps prompting me to update to the newest version of NoteCaddy everytime I run it in HM2.

    apart from timing out (never had issues updating pre 2.5), my db keeps growing while i'm not playing to huge sizes ie. 20gb, and doing vacuum in notecaddy brings it back down to 1.7gb so I have to do it daily .

    I'm having some problems as well.

    I opted to update once asked after opening NC, but the updater hangs until it shows the timeout msg.

    Then HM shows a run error and shuts down. Then I can't open HM and the msg "HM stopped responding" shows.

    I've tried updating NC via the manual updater, but it also just hangs and then stops.

    I tried allowing HM.exe and NC updater in the firewall and essentials. I don't think this has been necessary before.

    The zip link you provided just says "starting" but never starts downloading.

    Now I'm gonna try reinstalling HM .8159 and see what happens.

    I can now run HM after reinstalling .8159

    My NC version is now 2.5.15, which contains some bugs.

    Can you please provide a working link to .16 or .17

    It seems something is wrong with the updater because it breaks HM. Maybe it's just because it can't finish IDK.
