I have a recent sample of hands where the river call efficiency stats don't make any sense to me, hopefully someone can help.
The 3 important stats are:
River call efficiency: 0.96
River call efficiency $: +$5,761.12
River call win %: 39.7%
Ok, so looking at the first one, my understanding is (was) that a river call efficiency of 1.0 means you get $1 back for every $1 you call on the river. A RCE<1 implies you get less than $1 back for every $1 you call on the river and so you are losing money on your river calls. This seems to be contradicted by my RCE$ being significantly above $0.
My next thought was maybe it's not calculated in $ terms but relative to the size of the pot. So calling a PSB in a 4bb pot is equivalent to calling a PSB in a 400bb pot when calculating RCE. But this is contradicted by the third stat. I don't face a lot of river overbets, so my breakeven point for river calls is going to be something around 30% (usually getting a bit better than 2:1), but my river call win % > 30% so that doesn't explain it.
I have no more thoughts. Any help?
