After some time, say 10-15 minutes it starts to increase badly. I opened HM2, left it minimalized, and did nothing at my computer. After some time:
    https://gyazo.com/f7f0a2d7d8e3ad6c8c8a9bdc327650c1

It takes 5GB, then for a short period went back to 0.8GB and after that, this is last stage:

And it went all the way up to 7+GB so my computer basically freezes and I need to close it. Any idea why this might happen?

I was not using HM at all, just had it opened. Not using my computer at all, and this just happened randomly. Also when I work with it, it starts kind of ok, even though not really smooth and fast, but after some time (10 mins +-) it's just unusable and I either have to wait for long time or just close/reopen it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Please see this FAQ to alleviate any security bottlenecks - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...olders+HM2+use

Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...7%7D7+%26+8%29

Which Operating System, Firewall, and AntiVirus are you using?

Many of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, Zonealarm, Avira, Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work well with Holdem Manager.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

    1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
    2) Reboot your computer
    3) Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe
    - After downloading, you should right-click the file, go to properties and click unblock. Then, right click the file and run as administrator.
    4) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel, turn off Windows Defender, and add firewall exceptions for HM and SQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rewall%29#MSES
    5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus/malware protection and update it - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

    If none of that helps:

I'm really sorry and I know there is nothing more frustrating than having issues like this when trying to play. I hope i can help you resolve this quickly.

What is your hard drive model, RAM and CPU? You can find this in your Control Panel - System - Device Manager. Sometimes lower spec PC's can contribute to lagging but that is not to say we can't still improve it further.

Are you running Notecaddy also and do you have many definitions or use any of the NC Edge or NC Advantage packages? Those can also have an impact on large database with large definitions.
If you do I would suggest reading this thread which will help improve the performance when using NC:
    http://wiki.assaultware.com/NoteCadd...provement.ashx

In the meantime while you reply with those details I have a couple of things you can try that will improve the performance of your PC in general and may help if this scanning is the cause of the issues you're seeing.

Please check these 2 FAQs and try all the steps there to see if they help:
    - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...%28Firewall%29 - Resolves issues where security software continually try to scan files and processes which can slow down your PC
    - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rts+%26+HUD%29 - General tips and solutions for performance issues

A few other things you could try to see if it helps when playing:
    - Does it help you disable the Options > Settings > General Settings > Miscellaneous > [ ] 'Automatically Refresh' option and restart HM2?
    - Try leaving HM2 on the 'Home' tab when playing.
    - Try picking a villain in the reports that only has a few hands in your database instead of your hero and restart HM2.
    - Try creating a new smaller database with just hands from the past 1 or 2 months to use when playing - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem, describe exactly what you were doing, and attach your new \HM2logs folder -

    Thanks for the response:

    I:
    - removed "read only" from all the folders you mentioned
    - look at the security of each folder, add postgres in there and allow all users and admins all the rights
    - check site setups (only use PS) and made the same with all the folders in there
    - run as admin all the files you recommend doing so
    - add HM2.exe and postreg.exe to my exceptions of antivirus I use (ESET)

I use ESET antivirus and std win firewall. Win 7, 64 bit.
    https://gyazo.com/7354cc7db80edeea7969657677be2564
This is my CPU and RAM. I use two HDDs, main one is SSD disk, where all the programs and database is and older one where I just store data (not poker related).

After this operation, I tried opening HM again, not using it just looking at task manager. It took bit more time, but same pattern happened again. After some time, memory consumptions of HM increase from about 770MB to everything available (7GB).

Do you have any note caddy packages?

Please try to vacuum/analyze and reindex your database - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...29#maintenance

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

Try creating a new DataBase and import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...y+played+hands

If the new database seems to work properly, it sounds like your database might be corrupt. Please continue to use the new database and import the rest of your hands using the steps above.

Thanks for the tip. I tried both options you suggest, unfortunately problem remains the same.

With new database avg RAM drops to about 350MB, but it also runs up to 4GB+ without even "touching" HM at all.

As a last desperate move I tried to uninstall, reinastall HM and that seem to solve the troubles. I deleted my old database and import new hands today and it works fine so far.

Afterwards, it will either show there are no integrity problems, or give a location for a file with errors. If this happens, check the file - c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log for any clues.
I finally got around to doing this on my desktop. I can't make heads or tails of the resulting log file though -- plus it's a pretty darn big! If you have a moment, could you have a look and tell me if there's anything that might be slowing things down? Not really sure what to look for. Thanks!
