vacuum analyze database errors

after purging hands i was asked to vacuum analyze my database i followed the directions but no matter what when i put in my password i always got 2 errors

an error has occurred error; could not read block 21 of relation 1663/11511/1255;read only 0 of 8192 bytes

an error has occurred error connecting to the server; the postgreSql server must be at least version 7.3!

Error 1 looks like a corrupt database.

Create a NEW empty database--> reimport your hands.
Since you will be creating a new database anyways, update your SQL to 8.4.7 (or 9.0.3) by installing that to port 5433 and reimport your hands into that instead.
