Default Virus Detected in HM2 by AVG Antivirus: thirtytwobitlpc.exe

    Hi there,

I truly hope this is a false positive (although it never happened before). AVG Antivirus detected an exe file named "thirtytwobitlpc.exe" within the C:\Program Files (x86)\Holdem Manager 2 folder. It advised me to remove the file which I have done. I googled the name of the potential virus and didn't find any meaningful hits.

So, what is this thirtytwobitlpc.exe? Is this a virus/threat or is a perfectly safe file used by HM2?

As you may imagine, I would appreciate a quick reply as right now I rather not use HM2, which causes a big hassle. Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Well, it looks like this was a false positive indeed and a safe file. The name of the file was misspelled so the initial search didn't trigger the wanted results. Sorry for the confusion

You can't download that file by itself but installing the full setup over your current installation should take care of it without causing any issues or the need to uninstall first - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...er_2_Setup.exe

Thank you for letting us know this is resolved.

    Good luck at the tables,

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

As a heads up, AVG has caused major issues, including corrupting the database and in several cases, corrupting Windows so bad, it has to be completely reinstalled. We do not recommend ever using it.

Many of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, Zonealarm, Avira, Avast, AVG, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work well with holdem manager.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

    1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
    2) Reboot your computer
    3) Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe
    4) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel, turn off Windows Defender, and add firewall exceptions for HM and SQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...%28Firewall%29
    5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus/malware protection and update it - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and attach your log.txt file.

Please 7-Zip the file before attaching it, as sometimes text files can become corrupted as attachments.

    XP:
    c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager

    7/vista
    c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager

Enable the option to see Hidden Files and Disable "Hide protected operating system files": http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...in+Windows%3F+ - It should look like this: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
