Default Windows 8.1 update & LB HM2 NL fix

We have a temporary fix for anyone who recently updated to the 8.1 version of Windows and registration is no longer working. You'll have to make sure to update both your HM2 to the latest 8.1 fix version, and LB. The HM2 Win 8.1 fix is located here:
    http://forums.holdemmanager.com/hm2-...nsing-fix.html

The LB HM2 NL Fix is here. Download and unzip:
    http://acepokersolutions.com/files/L...ows 8.1 Fix.7z

Then copy and replace the existing LB file that is by default located here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Holdem Manager 2\Modules

We'll have an official release soon.

You're missing the licensing file. The URL above didn't link properly because it had a space. I re-linked it, so it should be ok. You need to be sure you have the latest HM2 beta installed or the fix will NOT work. Double check that you have this file in the HM2 main directory:

    DeployLX.Licensing.v5.dll

Look in this directory for the file I mentioed above: C:\Program Files (x86)\Holdem Manager 2

If you have all of these in place, it should work just fine.

I have the latest version of HM2, also the DeployLX.Licensing.v5.dll in the main HM2 directory, but HM2 crashed again. Attached is the new error log.

This is typically due to antivirus blocking the setup file.

I’m sorry to hear your experiencing issues with Holdem Manager. We reviewed the log file you sent, please follow these instructions to fix the issue:

Step 1 – Restore Default Settings:
First try restoring your default settings, often some settings files can become corrupt and cause these issues:
    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...fault+settings

Step 2 – Set files to run as administrator
    1 - Go to C:\Program Files\Holdem Manager 2 (Program Files (x86) for the 64bit version)
2 - Right click the HoldemManager.exe and choose "Properties".
3 - Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an “Administrator"
    4 - Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for HudFuncsApp.exe and tablescannerdllloader.exe

If this option is greyed out it is because the UAC is disabled.
Enable UAC - Disable User Account Control (UAC) the Easy Way on Win 7, 8, or Vista
Reboot and complete Step 3 and 4.
UAC can be turned off again if desired.

    Step 3 – Update Windows
Often the issue can be caused by a conflict with another program or utility on your PC. Windows may have released an update to fix this issue. See here for details on how to run windows update.
    Microsoft Windows Update

Step 4 – Uninstall and reinstall HM2 with Revo uninstaller:
Other times critical system files may not have been installed on previous updates and it can also cause these types of errors or in some cases antiviruses may have removed files that it mistook for unsafe. Doing a revo uninstall also removes old registry file information which might have become corrupt. You can download the free version here: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems and there is a useful tutorial how to use it here:
How To Use Revo Uninstaller To Completely Uninstall Programs

Uninstall Holdem Manager 2 via Revo unistaller and then reinstall this version:
    http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...er_2_Setup.exe

Please add this file to your firewall and antivirus exceptions and run it as Administrator.

Step 5 – Add exceptions to firewall
Some firewalls detect HM2 as a threat because of the way it interacts with different poker software, as a consequence they can block HM accessing files it needs to and in turn cause a crash. Please follow the instructions in the FAQ carefully.
    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ems+943irewall

Step 6: Set correct permissions on files and folders HM2 use
Please follow the instructions in this FAQ: http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...olders+HM2+use

Step 7: If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem, describe exactly what you were doing, and attach your log.txt file -

    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ger+Support%3F

Many of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, Zonealarm, Avira, Avast, AVG, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work well with holdem manager.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

    1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
    2) Reboot your computer
    3) Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ger_2_Beta.exe
    4) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel, turn off Windows Defender, and add firewall exceptions for HM and SQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...%28Firewall%29
    5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus/malware protection and update it - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and attach your log.txt file.

Please 7-Zip the file before attaching it, as sometimes text files can become corrupted as attachments.

    XP:
    c:\documents and settings\username\application data\HoldemManager

    7/vista
    c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\HoldemManager

Enable the option to see Hidden Files and Disable "Hide protected operating system files": http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...in+Windows%3F+ - It should look like this: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg

Are you 100% sure that LB is in the modules directory? It says there's a missing file. Double check your HM default directory, and make sure the file isn't in there, because if it is for any reason, it will error out like this.

    Look here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Holdem Manager 2
Make sure no leakbuster .dll is in that directory

    Look here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Holdem Manager 2\Modules
Make sure the LB DLL exists in there

Your log is saying it's missing. So something is going on.
