You would need to edit them into a format that we support, such as a Poker Stars shell.

I tried to match the format but HM2 didn't import the file. Is there anywhere I can check for import errors to see what the problem was so I can make the necessary adjustments?

There's a converter in Universal replayer which you can use to verify hands. I don't currently have it installed to recall exactly how to do this but it's mentioned in this thread Two Plus Two Poker Forums - View Single Post - Popopop's Universal Replayer - Collected Threads Edition and a few posts later someone else sorts out the other issues with the hand history.

I've no idea if UR still works, but there has never, to my knowledge, been an easy way of converting live hh.
That said it might be worth checking out the app stores for android and iphone to see if anything is being developed in that field which might transfer across.
The only other possible lead might be MrWoosters latest project, currently only PS & FT, but he's open to suggestions and ideas.

It imported for me. Notepad++ is far superior to Notepad. Once you try it, you'll never use notepad again.
