pot odds on hud

can somebody please elaborate on this for me? what exactly is this number? looking at it right now it seems to be 'investment / (pot+investment)'.... but not 'amt_to_call / (pot + amount_to_call)'. i'd expect something that is called 'pot odds' to be based on the second formula rather than the first.
