Default TN2: Cycling - How it works

    Hi guys,

    Background
There has been quite a lot of confusion in the past when it comes to Cycling and popping of tables in TN2. This was partially our fault, we did change this feature quite a bit, due to feedback and to problems on edge scenarios.

Of course, we wanted for things to be straightforward - but this is not always the case. So we'd like to explain here how this feature works, and ask for feedback - on this final implementation, and whether we should improve/change anything.
To read this text translated in RU - please go here

    Active Table

    * Table In Foreground - in case there is a table in foreground, that is the table the hotkeys work on. This will have a frame around it (the "Target table" color).
Note that a window is in the Foreground when keyboard is directed to that window. So for instance when you're typing in skype, even though the mouse is away, the Skype window is in Foreground.
If you also select "Bring mouse to Table In Foreground", as the table is brought to foreground, we'll also place the mouse close to the buttons.

    * Table Under Mouse

Whatever table is under mouse, that is the table the hotkeys work on. If there is no table under the mouse, there is no active table. Again, the active table will have a frame around it (the "Target table" color).

If you also select "Bring table under mouse to Foreground", this will bring the table in foreground as well (you'll see it on top of all the other windows). If "Bring table under mouse to Foreground" is not selected, the active table is the table under mouse, even if the table is partially covered.

Note: we don't recommend unselecting "Bring table under mouse to Foreground", especially for Full Tilt, where we need the table to be in foreground in order to scrape the pot.

By default, after you act on a table (when in TUM mode), the target table does not change (it's still the table under mouse). If you want to move to the First-In-Line table, you should either use a cycling hotkey, manually move the mouse there, or check the "After I act on a table, go to First In Line".

The TN Icon in the system tray
Use this icon to quickly find out if the hotkeys are active or not.
When this is green, all hotkeys are working.
When this is half-green/half-red, only global hotkeys are working. By default, the "Toggle Hotkeys" and "Cycle to First In Line" hotkeys are global (but you can mark any hotkey to be global if you wish http://forums.holdemmanager.com/tabl...-2-2-20-a.html

When this is red, hotkeys are not working - only "Toggle Hotkeys" hotkey works.

Special cases: When we have "Table In Foreground" selected, and the mouse is hovering a table - hotkeys work.

Popup table when action is required
    - if selected, and you have acted on the (previously) active table, TN will automatically compute what the next active table should become.

If you have "Table Under Mouse" selected:

    - if you have checked "After I act on a table, go to First In Line", the First-In-Line table will come to the foreground, and TN will also move the mouse near the buttons.
    - otherwise, the next in line table will come to the top behind your current table, but will NOT become active - it will contain the "First In Line" frame color - to go to it, use the "Cycle to First In Line" hotkey or move your mouse there.

If you have "Table In Foreground" selected, the First-In-Line table will automatically should become active. However:
    - if the current Foreground is a poker table or lobby, then the First-In-Line table becomes active.
    - if the current Foreground is another application, then, if mouse is hovering a table and "Steal focus from other apps if mouse hovers a table" is selected, the First-In-Line table becomes active.
    - otherwise, the First-In-Line table is brought to top behind the active application, but will NOT become active - it will contain the "First In Line" frame color - to go to it, use the "Cycle to First In Line" hotkey.

    - if (Popup table when action is required) is not selected, another application will be in charge of selecting the active table. For instance, you can leave PokerStars do the "Popup table when action is required" - however please note that in this case if you play multi-site, you're on your own - different sites will steal focus from each other as they please.

Eat "Enter" key at active table when it's your turn
If selected, this prevents you from mistakingly betting something you don't want when a table pops up as active. At all sites, if you have an active table, and focus is on the betting box, if you press Enter, that will act as clicking Bet.

Say yoy're typing in Skype and a new table becomes active and steals focus just when you were about to hit "Enter" (this can happen if you have "Steal focus form other apps if mouse hovers a table" selected and you're hovering a table) - in this case, if it's your turn, we'll eat the "Enter" key - so you don't mistakingly bet.

Play a sound when focus stolen from another app
If selected, this is another helper in case you're typing in another application (such as Skype), and a table pops up as active (see above). This should help you stop typing (so you don't accidentally while typing, press a Hotkey and end up betting, calling, folding or who knows).

    Manually clicking a table
If you manually click a table, but you're in "Table Under Mouse" mode, it's business as usual - TN won't take any special action for you.
If you're in "Table In Foreground" mode,
    - if clicked in the buttons area, we'll assume you've clicked a button, so it's business as usual
    - if clicked outside the buttons area, we assume you want to particularly check that table. Therefore, "Popup table whenever action is required" is paused until you either act on this specific table, or hit the "Cycle to First In Line" hotkey. The rationale for this is: if we were not to pause "Popup table whenever action is required", if there was action at any table, that would popup, so you would not be able to manually check a table no matter what you do (the table having action would always popup).

    Cycling Hot Keys

"Cycle to First In Line" - this is the most important hotkey. It will take you to the first table that needs action (note: if you're already there, nothing will happen). This will also resume "Popup table whenever action is required", in case it was paused (see "Manually clicking a table").
This will also bring the mouse to table if you're in "Table Under Mouse" mode.
Note that "Cycle to First In Line" is a GLOBAL hotkey - so it works no matter in what application you're in or where the mouse is - as long as Hotkeys are ON.

"Cycle to Next In Line" - this will cycle to the next table having action (besides the active one). By constantly pressing this hotkey you can navigate through all active tables.
This will also bring the mouse to table if you're in "Table Under Mouse" mode.
By default, this is not a GLOBAL hotkey, so you need the hotkeys to be active in order for this to work (see "The TN Icon in the system tray"). However, making it GLOBAL is very easy - just click the "G" next to it.

"Cycle to Prev In Line" - this will cycle to the previous table having action (besides the active one). This has exactly the reverse effect as "Cycle to Next In Line".
By default, this is not a GLOBAL hotkey, so you need the hotkeys to be active in order for this to work (see "The TN Icon in the system tray"). However, making it GLOBAL is very easy - just click the "G" next to it.

    "Cycle Forward"
This cycles to the next table besides the active table, going left-to-right and top-to-bottom.
If you're in Stack layout, this will bring the window that is just below the current one.
In TIF mode, if the new table you moved to has no action, the "Popup table whenver action is required" is paused until you act on that table or manually click on another table or press the "Cycle to First In Line" hotkey.

By default, this is not a GLOBAL hotkey, so you need the hotkeys to be active in order for this to work (see "The TN Icon in the system tray"). However, making it GLOBAL is very easy - just click the "G" next to it.

    "Cycle Backward"
This is the opposite of "Cycle Forward".
By default, this is not a GLOBAL hotkey, so you need the hotkeys to be active in order for this to work (see "The TN Icon in the system tray"). However, making it GLOBAL is very easy - just click the "G" next to it.

Show "Cycle to First In Line" warning
If selected, whenever "Popup table whenever action is required" is paused or resumed, we'll show a warning (a balloon tooltip and a message in Logs tab).

    Ok..
    • Please open PokerStars…and…Go to Hotkey Settings
    • Choose ``activate next table`` by using any Hotkey you want..
    • Open 4 tables ``ZOOM`` and choose tile tables..
You can cycle to any table and do what ever you want…
    • This is how TN1 works also..
    • TN2 doesn’t…!!! This is what I`m asking.. I think it is very simple.. Can you fix it, please???

    Thanks

    It needs more WORK please…
    - It works ONLY if you have ``Table in Foreground`` checked… Problem is that mouse is not coming ``together``… It is coming only when it`s also your turn to act (``bring mouse to Table in Foreground``)
Please add ``Move Mouse To Activate Table`` ….ASAP please!!!
I guess this will solve the problem.. Otherwise mouse is VERY very confusing…

    Speed is also another issue..
    - Competitor`s software is really faster when cycling.. It`s really MUST for multitabling… TN1 was really really faster if you don’t understand what I mean..Please make a check (zoom 8 tables in tile mode)!!! You can`t play…!!! It needs almost ½ sec to move WHILE PLAYING..You understand that this cannot be acceptable..

    Hi John,

Can you elaborate on what you mean from my understanding you want to use Table under the mouse but have the mouse go to the active table when it is your turn to act is that correct?

For the speed issue i had offered a tv session with you to resolve this issue but you did not accept can you please try the following

go to the start menu search and type "performance information and tools", without the quotes, and hit enter. Or do right-click on My computer and select Properties. In the new window that pops up click the adjust visual effects link. Choose custom - and you can disable everything except the following:

    enable desktop composition
    enable transparent glass
    show thumbnails instead of icons
    smooth edges of screen fonts
use visual styles on windows and buttons

Also make sure UAC is disabled according to the following instructions:
    http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...UAC+(Windows+7)
    http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...Off+UAC+(Vista)

I would like to cycle to any table.. I do that now (after your help from yesterday) but mouse doesn't follow.... It stays at the previous table.... But it should follow (appear on the next table) also... At the moment it doesn't...

Please give us a "Move Mouse also to next table when cycling" check option, please...

This I believe will solve the problem...

    Hi John,

Are we talking about "Cycling Forward" hotkey? If so, I'll fix it in the next release. Thanks!

    John

    No...

Cycling forward works now... I don't know what you did but it works... Problem is that mouse doesn't follow..it stays to the previous table... So you know where you play (active table) from the color of tha table...

By this way mouse is very confusing and while multitabling it forces you to make mistakes.. (tile mode) as you beleive sometimes that active table is another one..
