    Default Postgres Lost: URGENT, please help!?!

    So I made the error of trying to move my postgres file yesterday and now I cannot get HEM2 to start at all with the error message;

    "ERROR:Unable to read data from transport connection. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

    This was my idiotic fault, but can someone please help me work this out? I moved it staright back to where it was but I still get the same error msg

    Thanks in advance!

    First try to reboot.

    If no help, try this:

    Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

    Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

    If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

    If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely

    If you reinstall the same version of PostgreSQL (PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database) and it manages to detect the old database, you can keep the old database.

    Install 8.4.x from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database

    It's up to version 9.3 now. Do I have to track down version 8.4.x?

    What version WERE you running? Don't use 9.3. Install the one you WERE running.
