    It doesn't work

I got this mail, and did everything, couldn't get the ''Stack Builder'' to be started.

    Can you please help me?

    Hi,

sorry to hear about your issue.

If that installer fails to install PostgreSQL, please reinstall PostgreSQL using the following instructions:

The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer and is required to be running to install PostgreSQL. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services. Starting it once should insure it works in the future also.

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right-Click > Run As Administrator
In the window that appears please type the following and press enter:
    net user postgres /delete

You should get a confirmation if it was successful.

If that doesn’t work try installing this version of PostgreSQL – http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/Pos...3.9-v1.0.7.exe

If that installer also fails try this one it should work PostgreSQL: Choose a Mirror

You don't have to use the stack builder.

What error do you get exactly when you're installing 8.2.x?

Before you manually install PostreSQL try deleting the postgres user first:
click on Start and go to Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

    * If you are on Vista, rightclick and choose "Run as Administrator".

A black box should appear. Type 'net user postgres /del' (without the quotes) and press enter.

The user is now deleted and you can (re)install PostgreSQL.

I have the same error message

''Sorry couldn't install postgres'' at the end of the installation.

Its a new PC under windows 7

I downloaded the application of HM and i run it as admin.

I tried your other versions links (8.3.9), after deleting the old user net (postgrest) but after extracting (as admin too) all files, it jam at

    ''create folder c:/prog file/...''

I already have a license for HM, i tried the free trial version and the 1st install version, none of both work.

And yeah, my profils as been reseted so am able to do 2 installations with my current license... And yeah my secondary logon is active.

Also, i wonder why the package install visual CC+ 2005 while windows 7 come with 2008 version...

The server name is it 127.0.0.1 ?

Oh, just found postgres for window 7 64 bits, its 9.0.3 (but looks to be the server application and not the client application!?

Where is the link of what i need for windows7 64 bits to fit with my HM that i paid for?

Try 8.4.7 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database

If that one won't instal try 8.2.x
