    Default error message: an error has occured while loading the prefs root element

    Last night I lost power while running HEM. Today when I try opening the program it gives me the error message indicated in the thread title.

    I'm unable to run the program. What should I do to fix this program?

    turns out to be a corrupted .xml file. I've resolved the problem, please disregard.
