Cant acces my database anymore

I just tuned my postgres to optimize it. However when i started hm again, i got this message: The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Backend sent unrecognized response type

I tried to get into the database by pgAdminIII but when i enter my password i keep getting the message: Error connecting to the server: received invalid response to SSL negotiation


Any idea about what to do next?

Ok, By now i found the pg_hba file. But i don't know what data to put in that file? There should be a back up made of that file? where can i find that?

Sorry, the solution actually appeared to be more simple then i thought, after rebooting my pc, al the problems where gone. Thanks for the help.
