Default Version 1.11.04 bug with Bullguard.

    Hi.

When I tried to install Hold'em Manager with postgreSQL 8.4 it wouldn't install postgreSQL 8.4 because of an error. I've tried to delete my anti virus program: Bullguard, and then install HEM again. This time HEM was working and I couldn't see any problem with installing Bullguard again - so I did. But now I get another error when I'm trying to open HEM. "The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Data from the transportconnection could not be read. An excisting connection was forced down by an eksternal host." (translated from danish). So now what do I do? I don't want to delete Bullguard totally from my computer for good, because I think it is a very nice progrom and it also works on my laptop where I have HEM version 1.11.02b with postgreSQL 8.4.

I also need to take my database from my laptop to my static computer. On the laptop I have postgreSQL 8.4 so I can't use postgreSQL 8.3 on my static pc, because then I won't be able to read the database from 8.4 to 8.3.

I really hope you guys can help me. ASAP!

I have had nothing but problems every time I have encountered bullguard on a customers machine. I suggest you use an alternative for firewall/anti-virus. Good, free AVP options are Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG Free, or Avira Free. I use MSES and the Windows Firewall without issues. If you want a stronger firewall you can try the Comodo Free Firewall, but I dont recommend the Comodo Internet Security package.

Please update to the latest beta - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/rele...-beta-9-a.html

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Can't Connect / Failed to Start PostgreSQL

    First try to reboot.

    If no help, try this:

    Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

    Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Windows Firewall / Defender Problems

Please try following these FAQs, step by step:

    1) FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Can't Connect / Failed to Start PostgreSQL
    2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Reinstall PostgreSQL Preserving Old Database
    3) Still Can't Connect to PosgreSQL? Try This! - Holdem Manager Forums

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands using these instructions

    1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
    2) Use our combo installer to reinstall PostgreSQL. Make sure you un-check Holdem Manager during installation. http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ager_Setup.exe

If that installer fails to install PostgreSQL, please reinstall PostgreSQL using the following instructions:
    A) Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right-Click > Run As Administrator
    PHP Code:
    net user postgres /delete
    B) Reboot.
    C) Try installing this version of PostgreSQL - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...3.9-v1.0.7.exe

The only method that ever worked for the customers with bullguard that I helped via remote support, was to uninstall bullguard and use something else.
