Default Video showing that it takes incredibly long time to retrieve ~20k hands for reviewing

There are some graphic errors in the beginning.. but don't worry, you're not missing out on the action. At ~8:40 you can see the results. I find this retrieving time incredidbly slow and would like some help to improve it. HoldemManager is only retrieving about 20k hands from a (relativly to more than 15 million hands databases) small database of probably less than 1 million hands (I don't know where I can find information about how many hands I have in a database :-( ). I have just vacuumed and defragged the PostgreSQL harddrive.

edit: wow, video quality really sucks. Adding an image of the results:

    I'm using Hold'em Manager 1.06.04 beta 14

Have you stopped the PostgreSQL service and closed all postgres.exe in the taskmanager before defragging?

No, but but I find the defrag successful because before defragmentation max fragments in a postgresql database file was over 5000 and now below 10.

Ok, so a new defrag resulted in zero fragments. Retrieving the same hands as before now takes 8-9 minutes.

What specs is your machine and is the player your searching the Hero? Have you tried restarting HM after this search and doing the search again so HM can optimise the player and it will make the search faster

Also you have selected all hands in the lower pane, i presume this was because you wanted this, if not change it to last 100 or last 500 and it will load much quicker, in the meantime ill ask Roy if theres anything else you can try

My PostgreSQL server is running on a dedicated machine for this purpose. It has a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 processor, 2GB RAM and two raptor disks setup as RAID1. The computer running HoldemManager has a 3.2Ghz Intel Core 2 cpu with 4GB RAM.

Yes, the player I'm searching is the Hero and has always been.

I find all searches in "Hands" to be very very slow. Searches in "Reports" and "Sessions" are instant in comparison.

I have the latest version of HM 1.06.04 beta 14. I think searches were faster in earlier versions of HM.

Btw, right-clicking a hand in "Hands" and selecting "view selected hand histories" does not work anymore for me. After I click nothing happens. I used this feature a lot.....

loading up 20K hands into the hand view is a lot but obviously shouldn't take 8 minutes... you could email support@holdemmanager.net and we could try a teamviewer session on Monday to figure this out
