notecaddy purchase and transfer ownership

Hello , i think i posted this already but i cannot find it now. my question is can a friend of mine buy the note caddy and give to me to use it. Only i will use it ( 1 user ) and how can we make that happen. Who should i write to !? i don't know how note caddy comes ( license key or some other unlocking key/feature )
