Sorry it took way too long. Tons of little things came up. I did make a blog post with the results now AssaultWare blog: How do cores affect processing speed?

Because I am running HM2 as Administrator I think NC is re creating my notes, but how does it store it in the database ? Does it overwrite, so do I need to let it run again ? Or where is it stored anyway ?

BTW: What if you build a server with 4 processors, maybe AMD because it would be cheaper then intel's Xeon's. You could end up with 64 threads 16 core x 4. Does NC support that ?

It stopped creating notes at about 3 mil hands from 8/9 million total, run out of disk space again on C: that's only 60 GB and D: is 120GB both same SSD's. I already relocated my Users dir, on my old install the holdem manager 2 dir in users dir took also some space because of all the player names. But i can't find that anymore, probably again because of Windows it's access policy on it. Now I lost about 10 gig again I think only while note creating.

Never mind for now, it's creating notes again @ 170h/s. 5mil/8mil, looks a little more then 50%. Have now almost 5 gig left of 10 Gigabytes, I got back again(I remember now it happened before) lol.

    Hi,

I am also in the process of buying a new pc, mainly to run HM and NC smoothly. My knowledge of all the new hardware is not really up to date...This topic has made it clear to me that the SSD is the only option. What do you guys think is the best SSD option if you don't look at the price?

The Samsung 830 or 840 series look decent, the writing speed is 520MB/sec.
The OCZ Revodrive OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 PCI-Express SSD - OCZ, reads 1500MB-sec and writes 1250MB-sec. Anyone experience with this one? Specs look pretty impressive right? (it is significantly more expensive)
    Any other good options?

And I see that others advise to go with Windows 7. I d like to have Windows 8, is that a big risk (for HM/NC running properly)?

I don't recommend being an early adopter for a MS operating system. I've heard some bad things about windows 8. If issues arise using hm/nc with it, I don't imagine fixing that would be top priority either

Here is a good article about SSD's.

Sean's SSD Buyers Guide & Information Thread

For some reason when you click the link it takes you down about half way through the article, so scroll to the top and start there.
