Hi,
I've about 30k hands on a certain regular who has recently started changing his game dramatically, how do I delete his old data before say last month so my HUD reflects his new style of play?
TIA

You can delete the hands FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Purge Hands which will update your reports but until we build the cache rebuilder your hud stats wont refresh the changes unless you export and reimport all those hands into a new database

Hi Icaro - This procedure will achieve what you want
Download & install this free program (npp 5.7) (The green button is the easy one to install) :
You will be using it to edit your raw HH's, but as a precaution against mistakes copy all your C:\HMArchive HH .txt files to a new folder
###
IN THE npp PROGRAM & USING THE .TXTs IN THE NEW FOLDER:
Open ALL the .txt files that date before July 2010 (open them with npp)
npp menu bar > Search > Replace > The 'Replace' dialog box appears
In the 'Find what:' field type 'playerX' EXACT screen name
[best to copy/paste his SN from a HH to be sure it's exact]
In the 'Replace with:' field type 'playerY' (which is a screen name you have invented. But it's important to use a name that doesn't exist already in your HH's)
Check the 'Match Case' box
Click the 'Replace All in All Opened Documents' button
Close the dialog
Save & close the open HH's
Now 'playerX' only exists from July onwards
###
IN HM:
Create a new empty DB
>> FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Database Management
>> FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Create / Delete Database
Import all the HH's from the new folder into the new DB using the 'Import from Folder' button
>> FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: How to Import & Export Hands
Check in HM reports & replayer that 'playerX' only shows recent stats & your new DB functions well
If you are happy after using the DB for playing poker you can now delete the old DB
###
Bear in mind...
You will have to export/import player notes if you use them
Tournament summaries
bonuses & rakeback etc

For this player...
If you want to analyse all his hands for all time you will have to create an alias for him & include 'playerX' & 'playerY' in the alias
