I have window 7, and i was able to install on my pc, but on my laptop i keep getting this error. They both run windows 7, and the network is the same.
The only difference is the laptop connects to the network by wireless.

I use Kaspersky but already made the "exceptions" has is instructed on the forum...turned off, windows firewall, windows defender too!

Anyone can help?

Hi,

If that installer fails to install PostgreSQL, please reinstall PostgreSQL using the following instructions:
A) Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right-Click > Run As Administrator

net user postgres /delete 

B) Reboot.
C) Try installing this version of PostgreSQL - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...3.9-v1.0.7.exe

If that also fails follow step A and try this version PostgreSQL: Choose a Mirror v

The installation using the second file worked!

For me none of this has worked. In the first case, installation stops at postgres8.3/data. I already wait 3 hours and it doesn't continue.

In the second, the mirrors are disable. It can't found the file.

Make sure the secondary logon is running: The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services. Starting it once should insure it works in the future also.

i been having a long problem with my hm1 , not getting it to load due to postgress not starting.
i thought it was my system mechanic and perhaps it was but i did all the firewall stuff.
finally after reading this particular thread i downloaded 8.3 , deleted all 8.4 for good measure and hold them manager was able to start again.
good thing i had my hands saved as well.
