And what about the RangeMeister itself? Is there a way to use the old version of the program? I saw in another forum post that the author spends some time sporadically building this product but for some reason i cannot PM him here...

The PM feature here was disabled due to spam bots. You can try to PM him on twoplustwo or post in the rangemeister thread over there.
