Default How to install postgres on something other than the C: drive?

I am trying to reinstall HEM on a new computer that has a dedicated hard drive for the postgres database. The problem is that HEM installs postgres to the C: drive automatically, even if I select a different drive for HEM itself. Once HEM is installed following the Move Database to Another Hard Drive or Partition entry in the FAQ leaves me unable to restart the postgres service.

Also would installing the HEM program on a SSD drive increase performance measurably if the database is on a regular drive?

You need to install postgresql before installing HEM. Download and install it from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database.
During the HEM installation deactivate the Postgresql part.

The database on a SSD drive will have a much higher performance than on a standard HDD.
