    Default InstaScan

Can anyone explain to me the benefit of InstaScan over client side scanning? Is it simply the speed of the scan?

If it is just speed - can anyone who has used it (a user, not a member of the dev / support team) provide an objective view on whether the speed improvement justifies the extra cost? Likewise if it is more than just speed.

    Thanks

First of all it's the speed of the scan,
then you don't need to have the poker client running.
Just hit the scan button and you can see if it's worth to login...

    Regarding a review:
When you install HoldemManager 1.10.04b (or newer) you get a 2 week trial for the InstaScan service.

So, for 9.99 per month you get a quicker scan and ability to scan whilst not logged on. Are there any practical benefits of a quicker scan? Presumably it just means you have a greater chance of being first to join a juicy table if there is a seat free - assuming there is nobody else on the waiting list. Or is it just for impatient people

    Well, it's for both.

Think of PokerStars NL50 at peak time.
    200+ tables running...
InstaScan will increases your chance to find the worst player
just because you can evaluate more player / tables in a shorter time.

Indeed for Stars client side is way too slow, took about 5-6 minutes to scan 50-200 NL. Server side was 1.30 minutes

For everest, Ipoker, and probably other sides it is not a must, scans in 45 seconds client side.

What is the interval for insta scan at different sites and games?

    Default How about us cheapskates?

I could be wrong --- that happened once --- but I believe the Instascan and Server side scan don't support micro games like .5 / .10.

    Dunno why not.

    This is correct

The InstaScan requires quite a lot of ressources on our end.
We simply don't have the ressouces to cover the microstakes yet.
We will re-evaluate this decision in 2-3 months,
but for now we can not support the micro stakes with InstaScan.

So I want to set the optimal value to obtain information from the server.
How quickly update information about the tables on the server?
    for example nl25-nl50 PS FR

The interval is between 1-5 minutes.
So if you Classic Scan NL25/NL50 FR PS (which can be a LOT of tables at peak hours) a classic scan can take up 2-3+ minutes.

An Insta-Scan will take 6 seconds, but might actually show results with a 0-5 minute delay.
As a result (of a worst case scenario 5 minute delay) if can pick up: tables that no longer exist, and when a seat opens up and you join a table (because the table has really good overall stats/high table 'score') always take a good look at the players' stats if the fish is STILL actually at the table.
