    Default Holdem Manager Freeze

I updated holdem manager to verison .7164 and every time I play a session and hands start to import the software freezes. I get "this program is not responding". The only way to fix the problem is to shut down HM2 and then restart. Lately when I restart and it starts importing again it freezes. If I am just looking through my data and not using the HUD or importing the software does not freeze.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

I have been using HM2 successfully for the past 4 months. Everything is running as administrator and nothing is blocked by my firewall. After emailing support and telling them my database was lagging I was told to update to the new verison. I did this and every since my holdem manager freezes instead of being super laggy. The new update never offically completed because it froze holdem manager not even 5% through the process. After restarting HM2 I had a new database created and it only had about 100 hands from the old database. I tried just to use the new database and everytime I joined a table and the HUD popped up and hands started importing my Hm2 freezes. I have been emailing back and forth with support over the last 2 days and everyone just tells me to do the same thing (and I tell them it has already been done). I have also sent in log files and it seems like no one pays attention to them. I play over 6,000 hands a day and need this software back up. I would be able to do a video session to fix this problem anytime today.

    Thank You,

    Ross

Was playing this morning and everything worked for about 20 minutes. I went to re-tile my tables and when I clicked the hot key (clt+3 on pokerstars) my stats did not refresh on the tables and holdem manager froze. I restarted holdem manager and the second it loaded it frozen again. I deleted my old database which had over 800k hands. PLEASE HELP.

Does HoldemManager crash, or it goes into 'not responding' mode?
If you wait for 5-20 minutes, will it ever unfreeze by itself.

I resolved the issue on my own. I had to delete my old database (over 900k hands), had to uninstall HM2, re-downloaded an older version and imported my last months worth of hands. I have not had a problem since. I did loose over 700k hands from this year. I have used Holdem Manager for years and when a database gets too large the program starts to lag significantly. To avoid this problem in the future I am just going to keep smaller databases. Not being able to play cause my HM2 is down cost me around $400 a day. Your support team needs to respond faster and hold team viewer sessions in order to fix problems in a timely manner.

If you happen to have played on PokerStars, if you lose handhistory files, email PokerStars and request all your hands.
Also often backup your archive folder.
