Default Results graph - Showdown EV

    Hi

Im using the results grapsh to see how well im doing on hyper turbo sngs.
I think it gives a nice overview but im missing someting.

I think you should make an extra option, to show a (cEV diff - SD) line. Call it cEV diff/SD adjusted or something.
This line will show how much (you should have won - that you actually won). You can then compare this line with the blue SD line. If its above the blue SD line it means you run bad, if its below the blue SD line it means you are lucky.

I think this really gives an extra dimension to the results graph. Because it more specifically shows how much luck or bad luck you've had during a certain time, looking @ the showdown only.

The all in EV also gives an indication, but the non SD has influence on the all in EV. This means that the All in EV does not give a 100% correct view about how lucky someone is, or not.

If you disagree with this, you can comment too. It is a suggestion.

For tournaments the general consensus has always been “ChipEV” makes no sense to begin with.
Adding a “Chip EV – Showdown line” will result in the following: (example)

    2000 chips stack.
    1000 players (MTT)
    Top 100 in the money.
First hand of the MTT: AK vs QQ (coinflip)---> you win: cEV Diff = –2000

120 players left (average stack 16.7k). You have a 8000 stack. Another AK vs QQ (coinflip)---> you lose: cEV Diff = +8000.

SUM cEV Diff shows +6000 so you were very ‘unlucky’.
This +6000 doesn’t prove you were playing well or made the right decision.
    It doesn’t mean... anything.

If you really want to see if you’re running that bad, you could argue to implement a “cEV (in big blinds)” line.
At least that way if –in 20 consecutive games- you lose more than 70% of your coinflips (and are actually ‘unlucky’), it will reflect this in the graph.
