Default moving database+HEM to new computer

    Hi ,

My laptop needs fixing so I bought a new computer which I would like to use for my main poker.

do I simply follow the tips in "how do I backup database" or is there another method to trasnfer an entire database to a different computer.

Later, I would like to be able to use both to play (ie sometimes one and sometimes the other) whats the best way to do so (both computers will use the same wireless network and can be connected using Ethernet cables or the likes)

would still actually be helpful to hear what is best to do, as I am not sure whether or not you when you back a database up it can be restored onto a completely new computer and pgsql?

also, in the faq's there is a section on exporting hands from HEM, couple questions, firstly is this any different to me locating the actual folders containing the hands and transferring them myself? (just because I've already done that) and once you follow the steps on exporting hands, would I just copy the folder they're saved into and then on my new pc set this folder as a folder to import?

    thanks a lot

    The general FAQ: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=101

Export hands is transferring the hand history files.
On the new computer you need to create a new database and then import all the hands via import file or import from folder.
This is different from a database backup and restore.
A Backup / Restore contains all the hands, stats etc. but it doesn't work for all users.
A Export / import of hands into a new database starts from the beginning with recalculating stats etc.

Ok so I would be correct to export the hands and then import them on my new computer.

How can I transfer the notes I have on players though if backing up the database isn't what I should do? There no way to also transfer the HUD setups etc I have?
